Studying the writings of Hazrat Sultan Bahu (RA)

The research represented here began in 1958 and developed into a sustained engagement with manuscripts, historical accounts, Persian prose and the abyat. Prof. Dr. Sultan Altaf Ali's doctorate in 1987 examined the life, Persian works and thought of Hazrat Sultan Bahu (RA). His later books and articles continued to explore that subject.

Translation is an essential part of this work. Alongside the study of the original texts, his Urdu translations and explanations help readers follow their language and meaning. Abyat-e-Bahu, Divan-e-Bahu, Risala Rohi and Mirat-e-Sultani offer different starting points for exploring the collection.
